The Adventures of Rap Kid Series

We love this black-and-white illustrated series for reluctant readers aged 7+ from multi-award-winning teacher and World Book Day Ambassador, MC Grammar. It's great for children who love rap music, stories of friendship and all things laugh-out-loud. Plus, the illustrations throughout make for an extra fun and easy read!

Main character Z has a problem: he can only speak in rhyme, and this causes him some trouble at school. Because every time he speaks, he just ends up getting teased by his classmates! But things change when the Royal Rap Rumble comes to town – a competition to find the next rap legend. So, with the help of his super-cool English teacher, Mr G, his best friend, SFX, and the ultimate hip-hop makeover, RAP KID is born.

This is an excellent series to get reluctant readers into reading and we love that it is written by an author who has spent his entire career making reading accessible for children.

The Adventures of Rap Kid celebrates the power of words and friendship and is the perfect read for any fans of Diary of a Wimpy KidTom Gates and Loki: A Bad God's Guide.
