Who Was? Series

(53 reviews)

We love it when little ones discover someone from history who brought change to the world, and the Who Was? series is a great way to introduce children to some truly amazing people from history and historical events! Over 250 black-and-white illustrated books in the series tell the incredible stories of trailblazers, legends, innovators and creators for readers aged 7+.

From Shakespeare and Einstein to Rosa Parks and King Tut, get ready to meet some historical figures that helped to shape the world we live in today! These are stories of people who have been the first at something, the best in their field of work, who stood up for themselves and others or who simply did something truly brilliant! Think artists, scientists, leaders... With about 80 illustrations in each book, the stories of these people are brought to life like never before, telling not only their stories but digging into the intricacies of the history they lived through.

You don't have to read the series in any particular order, so just start with whoever has a story you think you'll like best! The books are only about 100 pages each.

As of 2018, the books have also been made into a Netflix show, starring some of the most popular people in the books.

This is a fantastic series for any reader stepping up from  Fantastically Great Women and the Little People, Big Dreams books. It's also a great option for fans of the Horrible Histories Series
