If you're on the hunt for a heart-warming and charming series that will grip your animal-loving child or classroom, the Appletree Animal Agency series will surely tick all the boxes for you, each book just over 150 pages and accessible to children still learning how to read. 

Each book is set around the local vet Dr Polly's animal rescue centre, which is overflowing with animals that need rehoming. Enter Mattie and her friends, Casper, Zoe and Maddie: they take it upon themselves to help the injured puppies, tortoises, kittens and even goats to find their forever homes! In each book, they come up with madcap schemes that so often do not go quite to plan to help their new furry friends.
