Written by award-winning author Dame Jacqueline Wilson and illustrated by Nick Sharratt, the Tracy Beaker series explores the issues of fostering, adoption and being in care. All written as seen through the eyes of 10-year-old Tracy who lives in a children's home due to neglect from her own mother. Her dream is to one day have a real home with a real family. In the meantime her adventures are told from her experiences in the children’s home, otherwise known as The Dumping Ground. Her feisty but funny nature sees her regularly breaking the rules and putting her wild imagination to use, resulting in her often making as many enemies as she does friends. Follow Tracy’s story in her own words through 4 books and share her hopes for the future in these beautifully observed, touching and often very funny tales.
 
The Story of Tracy Beaker was adapted into a TV series for CBBC in 2002 proving hugely popular and followed by a spin-off series called Tracy Beaker Returns.
