Nostalgic vintage vibes, joyous and authentic disabled representation, lots of adventure and friendship, and wondrous black-and-white illustrations throughout. These are all the winning ingredients that make Cosima Unfortunate one of our favourite middle grade series.

Cosima and her friends Pearl, Mary and Diya have have spent their lives at the Home for Unfortunate Girls and have over time become family to each other. In each book, the girls work together to uncover dastardly plots, escape cruel captors and find their true family.

In each book the three friends will have to use all their spirit, wit, bravery and ingenuity, making this not only an inspiring read, but a great next book for fans of The Kingdom Over The SeaGreenwild and Murder Most Unladylike.
