An exquisite duology from Kalynn Bayron, author of Cinderella is Dead (which, by the way, Toppsta readers have been raving about!), this is a teenage fantasy very much influenced by Greek mythology. Great for fans of The Legendborn Cycle, Ace of Spades, Blood Like Magic and Wings Of Ebony!

Briseis has wonderful magical powers. She can control NATURE itself. Flowers bloom in her footsteps and leaves turn to face her as though she were the sun. Her whole life, she's been encouraged to hide these powers, but an inciting incident, inheriting an old house from her birth mother, will take her on a journey of self-discovery and change her forever, helping her step into her own power as she practises her magic in her new home. 

But this home is like no other. Full of secrets. Full of history and magic. Brisels soon discovers a hidden altar to a dark goddess, a lineage of witches stretching back to ancient times, and a hidden garden overgrown with the most deadly poisonous plants on earth. Her magic may just be much more dangerous than she had ever imagined.

Brisels will have to face danger, a history of dark secrets, and eventually even go on a quest to find the last piece of the deadly Absyrtus Heart to save the people she loves most in the world. 

Kalynn Bayron has created an incredible world with this duology, as well as explored deep-rooted relationships and how nuanced they can be. An absolute must read!
