The perfect series for all Lottie Brooks books fans, The Accidental Diary of B.U.G. is the black-and-white illustrated middle grade series for tweens all about being a tween.
All books in the series are written in a diary format, with sketches, doodles, grids and illustrations, because they are in fact the diary of Billie Upton Green (but don't ever dare call her B.U.G.!). In each book, we join Billie, ten-year-old protagonist, on a new adventure, whether that be at school dealing with friendships and jealousy, or finding out what her mums are up to behind her back.
We love this series not only because it is so hilariously unique and funny, but also because it has wonderful representation, both with B.U.G. being adopted and growing up in an LGBTQ+ family.
If you love books like Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Tom Gates, Dork Diaries and more, you will be sure to enjoy these books too.
