Legacy and the Queen Series

Created by the basketball legend that was Kobe Bryant and written by squash player and author Annie Matthew, this is a New York Times bestselling series that mixes magic, legacy and sport for readers aged 10+.

The series follows a twelve-year-old girl named Legacy, who spends most of her days taking care of the other children at the orphanage where she lives, her only outlet being playing tennis. Then she hears about Silla’s tournament, where the less fortunate of the citizens can prove themselves and win entrance to the Academy, and ultimately train to compete at nationals and become a champion. Little does she know that participating in the competition unlocks magic, and if she wants to win, she will have to let her inner powers shine bright and beat all the impossible (and supernatural) odds.

This incredible and empowering female-led series mixes magic and sport, personal growth and friendship. It's a great read if you're a fan of The Wizenard Series and Epoca, also created by Kobe Bryant.
