Conkers Series

by ,
(150 reviews)

This black-and-white illustrated series from publisher Barrington Stoke  is the perfect next step towards independent reading for children aged 8+.

Barrington Stoke's books are known for being dyslexia-friendly, with large fonts and tinted paper, as well as confidence builders for first-time readers. These are the books to hand readers when they're ready for their next step: independent reading

The Conkers are the same length as standard middle grade stories, and written by some of the UK's best-loved authors, from Philip Ardagh to Jan Mark, but extra research has gone into their font, spacing, paper and design so as to ensure accessibility for all readers. The books don't have to be read in any particular order, and span from family stories to football stories to animal and school stories.
