We've loved this black-and-white illustrated series for years, and still recommend it to all curious, creepy-loving children aged 8+.
Meet Stitch Head: a small, almost-human creature made by Professor Erasmus, an inventor of living beings who works in the maze-like dungeons of Castle Grotteskew. Stitch is one of Professor's many monster creations, and soon enough is forgotten as new shiny creatures are made. But his story is just about to begin, and in each book he goes on new incredible adventures from seeking stardom to dealing with the mad Professor's many newly created (and often quite wild) monsters. The books are brilliantly illustrated and so very funny.
This series is a fantastic introduction to the wonderful world of middle-grade fantasy. We also would highly recommend books like the Nothing To See Here Hotel and Stitch.
