BOOT Series

We love books about friendship and connection, and this black-and-white illustrated chapter book series for readers aged 7+ who love robots and adventure is one of our favourites.

The books follow a toy robot, Boot, who one day wakes up and realises it has feelings, just like a human. But Boot isn't the only robot that can feel, and soon enough it makes friends, builds a home in an abandoned amusement arcade, helps other robots and even finds its own robot pets, all while tackling tricky emotions!

This sweet series is full of heart and hope, written by Shane Hegarty and illustrated by Ben Mantle. If you like this series, do also check out The Shop of Impossible Ice Creams books and the Darkmouth books.

All the BOOT books in order:

Book 1: Small Robot, BIG Adventure (2019)
Book 2: The Rusty Rescue (2020)
Book 3: The Creaky Creatures (2020)
