Here is a series that gives the Camelot legend a run for its money, featuring a Round Table full of ... mice! This does not have illustrations inside, so we'd recommend the series for confident independent readers aged 7+.

They may be squeaky and small, but theirs is a story of epic adventure of daring, legend and legacy, beginning below the floorboards of Camelot. Unknown to the knights above, the mice of the round table strive to ensure the safety of all who live within the castle walls, human and otherwise. And our main character and squire in training Calib Christopher will have to harness the magic of Merlin and the strength, bravery, and wisdom within his little self to become the mythical hero he was born to be.

This is an excellent series for fans of animal stories full of adventure or books like Mouseheart and Redwall.
