Many crime and detective stories can be quite serious and high-octane, but with the Diamond Brothers series you can count on laughter all the way. The books have black-and-white illustrations throughout and are recommended for all children aged 8+.
The Diamond Brothers are our detective duo, made up of Tim Diamond, who is actually quite terrible at his job, and Nick Diamond, Tim's much smarter brother. In each book, the detectives uncover crimes of all sorts, and nail criminal masterminds, but Nick's patience is constantly tested and Tim is always getting in trouble. The books are easy to read, full of action and downright hilarious.
Anthony Horowitz, the king of detective crime series, has also written the hugely successful Alex Rider and The Power of Five books.
