The Lorien Legacies is the bestselling science fiction series for young adults which tells the thrilling story of six teenagers who are the last of their race, running for their lives and fighting for survival. 

The series starts with I am Number Four, which introduces readers to the Loric, a nearly extinct alien race. Only nine teenagers and their guardians (known as the Garde) survived, the rest of their race wiped out by the aggressive Mogadorians. Now they are determined to eliminate the remaining Loric at all costs.

Book one tells the story of Number Four, John Smith. Number One was killed in Malaysia, Number Two in England, Number Three in Kenya. Number Four is the Mogadorians’ next target and John has to keep his identity and special powers hidden at all costs. 

Tired of running from his enemies, John decides to settle down in Paradise, Ohio. But he cannot allow the truth to put his human friends, and the girl he falls for, in danger. The only way the six can defeat the Mogs is together. But in the next books, how will the remaining Loric find each other? Can one girl be strong enough to bring them together? 

The Lorien Legacies books have many loyal fans and rave reviews. Written by several authors under the pseudonym Pittacus Lore, the series has sold millions of copies. Book one was also made into a major Hollywood film I am Number Four, but the books are of course far better and there is no I am Number Four sequel planned.
 
The series is great for readers 10 and over who love action-packed novels, especially science fiction fans. You’ll need to read the books in order and there is some violence, so it is best for older readers and the books have plenty of adult fans too.

The much anticipated final book in the series United as One was released in 2016 but Pittacus Lore lovers will be pleased to discover the new spin-off series, The Lorien Legacies Reborn.
