Galid mouse longs for a big Christmas with lots of presents. For years he has lived alone in old Poplar House and each year at Christmas he's received a single teeny tiny present under his teeny tiny tree. This year a young couple moves in just before Christmas. They refurbish the old house and decorate it for Christmas in ways the little mouse could have only dreamed about. When piles of presents appear under the tree, the mouse's wish seems fulfilled. However, instead of being happy, the mouse becomes jealous and a bad thought comes into his head. He decides to steal a presents. His bad behavior results in a series of mishaps that fateful Christmas Eve as he comes to learn the meaning of Christmas giving.
