Lindsey Gardiner was born and brought up in Dundee. As well as writing and illustrating children's books, she works as a part time lecturer in printed Textiles at the University of Dundee and as a freelance textile designer. Lindsey loves art that is "expressive and quirky" and this can be seen in her own work. Her first books for Orchard Here Come Poppy and Max and When Poppy and Max Grow Up have proved tremendously popular with their bright quirky artwork and appealing central characters.
