Giles Andreae Biography
Giles Andreae, born on 16th March 1966, is an award-winning British illustrator, poet and author. Giles has written many children’s bestsellers including
Rumble in the Jungle,
Commotion in the Ocean and
Giraffes Can’t Dance. Giles is also the creator of Purple Ronnie, a simple stickman cartoon character who appears on greetings cards with rhyming captions. Giles also sometimes works under the name of Edward Monkton.
Giles’s first animated television series, World of Happy, was commissioned by the CBBC for broadcast in March 2010. Captain Flinn & the Pirate Dinosaurs (a 52 part animated series) was broadcast in late 2016.
Giles lives with his wife and four children in Oxfordshire.
