He was the first to translate Naguib Mahfouz, Tayeb Saleh, Tawfiq al Hakim, Taha Hussein and Sonallah Ibrahim. Abdel Wahhab Bilal is an Egyptian illustrator who co-illustrated Festivals of Egypt with Tim Loveless.
