CLIVE KING moved to the village of Ash in Kent when he was two, and this is the setting for STIG OF THE DUMP. Educated at Rochester and Cambridge, later in life he visited many countries of the world as a sailor and taught and lectured in several others. He became a full-time writer in London at the age of 49 and now lives with his family in Norfolk.
