The play, The Proper Princess Test (at Independent Reading: A, for 7-8 year olds) is one of ten playscript adaptations of existing Cambridge Reading stories. The plays are ideal for group/guided reading sessions, providing an excellent means for practising reading, speaking and listening skills within a supportive group context. They can be used to deliver all the NLS objectives for plays, especially 'focus on play adaptation' and 'comparison of genre'. The plays are also available in group-reading packs, with accompanying teacher's notes, co-authored by Nick Warburton (an experienced playwright and children's author) and Jennie Dunn (a practising teacher and drama specialist), comprehensively covering the NLS requirements for study of plays as well as offering general guidance on reading and performing the plays in the classroom.
Kids will love this hilarious fairy tale adventure packed with clever twists, familiar characters and page-turning fun.
