Instamaths is designed to supplement the MLMMS learning programme, and is not a core textbook. It can be used to give learners lots of sytematic practisce in manipulating numbers and in computation, so that they can consolidate their understanding and refine their skills and accuracy. Learners can record their correct answers in the form of a bar graph given on the inside covers, which tracks their success rate over time. This process contributes to competency in MLMMS SO6. Learners can assess their own work or that of a partner (self or peer assessment), and record their own progress and achievements. The book then forms part of the learner's portfolio of work.
