When Afnan and Sa'ad's father undertakes a pilgrimage to the Great Mosque, he leaves them in the care of his good friend Ahmed, warning them to obey Ahmed in all things. One day, they ask for permission to go bathing in the lake. "Be sure not to drink from the lake" Ahmed warns. But, at the lakeside, Sa'ad becomes terribly thirsty. "Perhaps those old fairy tales are just meant to scare us" he thinks, before kneeling down to drink. But when Sa'ad catches sight of his reflection in the water, it is not a boy, but a gazelle that is gazing back at him. Will Afnan and Ahmed be able to find a way to return him to his human form or will Sa'ad be cursed for ever?...
