With no college degree or scientific experience, Jane was just 26 when she set up camp (with her mum) at Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania and began her groundbreaking research on chimpanzees. Jane immersed herself in the lives of wild chimpanzees, naming them all and noting their distinct personalties, instead of just assigning them numbers.
