When Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert want to hire an orphaned boy to help on their farm at Green Gables, they get Anne – a red-haired, freckle-faced and incredibly feisty girl.

Although Anne sometimes likes to imagine that her hair is brown and that her name is Cordelia, she can’t quite picture having to be a boy full time! And what’s worse, now that she has seen Green Gables, she also can’t imagine ever leaving! Anne soon settles in to life at Avonlea but as it turns out, the real question is, are the people of Avonlea ready for Anne…?
