Best Graphic Novel Series for 9 and 10 year olds

Here at Toppsta we have long been advocates of graphic novels and the important role they can play in a child's reading journey; one thing is clear, they're no longer just for reluctant readers.

All too often, graphic novels are seen as a 'fun' stage for younger ages but actually they can be incredibly important for ages 9 and 10 too. We get a lot of enquiries asking for recommended books and what's been interesting is the growing number of enquiries for graphic novels in this age group. I think the sooner we can normalise graphic novels for all ages, the better. If children read for pleasure, they read for life. So rather than pushing children on to read long-form fiction, let's celebrate those readers who prefer more visual stories and perhaps, just perhaps, we'll keep children reading for longer.

The list below includes some of our favourite and top-reviewed graphic novel series for this age range and beyond. We've included funny stories, adventures, magical fantasy, friendship journeys and so much more. Which one will you be picking up?
